My thoughts on the Real Life Marriage Retreat - Homeschool Edition

We have just finished the Real Life Marriage retreat, and I highly recommend it for all couples, not just those struggling with their marriage. We decided to come as an opportunity to strengthen our marriage, though we already felt our marriage was pretty strong and secure. The Lamberts & the St. John's have been such an inspiration and encouragement to us, not only in our marriage, but more importantly, in our Christian walk, and we are so grateful that God has led them to begin these marriage retreats.

Our lives have been touched, and we've opened our heart to allow God to speak to us through this conference, and show us areas where we might need improvement, even though we may not have been fully aware of the need beforehand. And God has been faithful to reveal to us a few areas where our marriage was being affected, even by past events, even though we didn't know it, and also learned some ways to overcome that and to become closer and more intimate.

Satan really would like nothing more than to allow a root of bitterness to get started in our lives, and use that to grow and grow and eventually tear apart our marriages, our families and countless others (especially our children and future generations) who would be affected by this.

It's really enlightening to realize that Satan, not our spouse, is the enemy, and that we should be united with God so that we can be strengthened against the attacks of the enemy, who would love to see our families fall apart. If God plants even the smallest seed in your mind that perhaps you, too, would be blessed by this conference in the future, I would truly encourage you to do what you can to try to make it to one, even if it means traveling a good distance to do so, or helping to set one up in your area. You and your family will be blessed.
